American born, James Davis studied fashion photography at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and worked as a fashion and lifestyle photographer in NYC before moving to Malmö, Sweden in 2004. His passion and creativity has inspired him to grow into one of Sweden's most established artist. James enthusiasm and acknowledgement of composition and lighting keeps him in the forefront of the fashion and advertising industry. He approaches all shoots, from fashion and lifestyle, with a relaxed attitude and pleasant demeanor.
He launched his professional career as a photographer where his talents led him into the world of fashion, beauty, travel and lifestyle photography.
He has photographed celebrities such as Aretha Franklin, Barry White, Andy Warhol, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Akon, Rihanna, Corine Bailey Rae, Stephon Maubury and Caroline Kluft to name a few.
James photographic style, which is a marketable trademark in a sea of clones, conjure images true to his creative ideals. He is an artist where vision and innovation have combined to form inner vision. His assignments have spanned from the U.S., U.K., Denmark, and Sweden. James has a passion for branding, customer satisfaction and financial results. His primary objective has always been to improve the visual ways of doing business in a wide variety of industries ranging from Fashion, Beauty Products, Pharmaceutical and Telecommunications. "Sometimes, it's like shooting a movie," when I get an assignment, I get an idea in my head, similar to a script. if needed, I search for a locations which will compliment the scene, or, when using an indoor setting, I experiment to achieve the perfect lighting. The photo appears in my head and I know the style of model, the shot will require. Initially, I might view the model(s) as props. Then suddenly it clicks, and I can see the personality in their eyes. I know then, that I can shoot and direct them for any role and my vision will be fulfilled.
