Since moving to Malmö in 2004 with his Swedish wife, James Davis undying passion to photograph in new and exciting locations made Sweden the ideal place to live and work.
Born and raised in South Carolina (USA), James decided to move to the "Big Apple" to attend art school immediately after graduating from high school. He studied fashion photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology and photo illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York. After completing his studies James improved his talents by working for respected photographers in NYC.
During the 80's James began his career freelancing where he specialized in fashion and beauty photography. His work has been published in magazines such as, Vogue; Harpers Bazaar; Elle; Jet Set and most recently Hennes.
He also has an impressive list of celebrity portraits which includes, Carolina Kluft, Andy Warhol, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Barry White, Akon, Rihanna, Corinne Bailey Rae and James Brown to name a few.
James has exhibited his art in several galleries in NYC and most recently in Sweden. Most of his art work is expressed in black and white. James' primary objective is to enable many individuals to appreciate and embrace photographic art as an important and necessary part of life.
